Description

Copy deed of covenant from Albert Stratford George Canning to James Roxburgh, for the production of title deeds on property located at Rostrevor in County Down. Instrument refers to earlier conveyance (1854) made between Canning and David Ross under which the latter agreed to purchase property comprising 2270 acres, 2 roods and 10 perches in the townland of Rostrevor, part of Kilbroney Upper, comprising 389 acres and 23 perches, part of Rostrevor Upper comprising 1006 acres and 28 perches, part of Point Park comprising 144 acres and 1 perch and part of Newtown Upper comprising 211 acres, and 2 roods and 9 perches, in the Barony of Upper Iveagh, County Down, for a sum of £22,000. With reference to conveyance (1866) between Canning and David Ross (with consent of Roxburgh), it is agreed that Canning will offer a covenant for production of title deeds on property containing 20 acres between town of Rostrevor in County Down and the Quay, in possession of Roxburgh.
